Senior Sales Executive - Outside Sales

Applied Climate Solutions is a HVAC manufacturers’ representative and building automation solutions provider for building owners, engineers, and contractors. Applied Climate is a fast-growing company that is ready to add to the team. We are looking for a dynamic senior sales executive with a mechanical engineering background, at least 5-7 years’ experience and existing relationships in the commercial HVAC industry, strong experience with outside and consultative sales, and the ability to cultivate and maintain personal connections with our clients, team members, and vendors. This role is designed to grow with the company, and we are looking for motivated and goal-oriented individuals.

Primary Duties

This senior member of our team will be responsible for obtaining large-scale orders and specifications from our regional and national commercial HVAC clients through a high-touch, relationship-based, consultative sales approach.

Essential Job Functions

  • Sell large equipment, design/build, retro-fit, and building automation projects to regional and national clients by:
  • Soliciting architects, engineers, contractors, industrial users, and other specifiers and prospects to obtain orders and specifications
  • Cultivating and maintaining trusting relationships with potential and existing clients through a meeting-intensive sales process and frequent follow-up interactions
  • Managing a diverse account list of national and regional clients (accounts to be assigned by the company)
  • Identifying client needs and working with the team to propose effective solutions
  • Generating quotes and closing orders
  • Developing and executing account plans to meet sales goals

Qualifications / Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical engineering strongly preferred) or equivalent work experience in the commercial HVAC industry
  • Valid driver’s license

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

  • Prefer a Bachelor’s in accounting or finance
  • May substitute with five years’ experience and Sage Intact experience

  • 100% commission

Inside Operations

Applied Climate Solutions is a HVAC manufacturers’ representative and building automation solutions provider for building owners, engineers, and contractors. Applied Climate is a fast-growing company that is ready to add to the team. We are looking to add an inside operations role to our team who can provide support to help sustain our current growth rate. This role is designed to grow with the company, and we are looking for motivated and goal-oriented individuals.

Primary Duties

This role will be responsible for both pre- and after-sale support for Applied Climate’s varied portfolio of new construction, retro-fit, and building automation projects. Duties will include equipment selection, estimating, generating proposals, generating submittals, project management, order tracking, preparing equipment order entry, and managing ship dates. 


This role requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively with the sales force, clients, and manufacturers, and a strong customer-service orientation in order to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining client satisfaction. The ability to work well with others in a fast-paced and high-volume environment is essential.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work with sales team to create and maintain job files for each job throughout its duration
  • Support sales teams on assigned projects to optimize the job through the stages of product selection, specifications, reviewing plans, estimates, proposals, value engineering and redesigns
  • Manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis
  • Follow up with owners, architects, MEP consultants, and general, mechanical and electrical contractors
  • Prepare correct project-related data and equipment for order entry
  • Manage IOM and submittal requests
  • Coordinate warranties and parts
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, project engineers and manufacturers
  • Determine project requirements, constraints, and responsibilities to meet all the client's system design, installation, and maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain client satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with clients and co-workers, as necessary

Qualifications / Skills

  • The ability to read, understand and interpret building plans and specs 
  • Familiarity with common system designs
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The desire and ability to anticipate challenges and proactively identify and seek solutions for client needs
  • The ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of regional and national clients, owners, engineers, contractors, and vendors
  • A strong customer-service orientation

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any type of engineering preferred
